You may have read our recent blog post celebrating our new status as an NAC – a Neta Accredited Company. Well, first of all, this is big news in our industry and is the result of a bunch of hard work and dedication at all levels of our company. So what is NETA and what does it mean for a company to be NETA Accredited?

From their website, NETAworld.org, “The InterNational Electrical Testing Association (NETA) is an organization that serves the electrical testing industry by accrediting third-party electrical testing firms, certifying electrical testing technicians, producing American National Standards, hosting PowerTest – Electrical Maintenance and Safety Conference, and publishing the NETA World technical journal.”

Regarding NAC’s, the website states “NETA Accredited Company (NAC) membership is tailored for third-party, independent firms involved in full-service testing, analysis, and maintenance of electrical power systems. This includes low-, medium-, and high-voltage distribution, substation, and generation equipment. NETA maintains a comprehensive accreditation process that certifies the company and its individual technicians to assure consumers of both the qualifications of the company as well as the credentials of the individual technician. Following accreditation, the qualifications of each NETA Accredited Company and its technicians are reviewed on a regular basis.”

In a nutshell, much like any accreditation or accrediting body NETA ensures that minimum standards and requirements are met. These standards are especially focused on training, experience, conflict of interest and other areas of the electrical testing business that have a direct impact on how we serve our customers.
