Course Overview:The UL 508A Book Navigation Training class allows students to navigate and understand industrial control panels construction and installation in accordance with the Standard of Industrial Control Panels, UL 508A, 3rd Edition. Participants that would benefit from this class include UL 508 shops, Electrical Contractors, General Contractors, and Building Maintenance.

    • Difference between National Recognized Laboratories (NRTL) and Field Evaluation Bodies (FEB)
    • Heater circuits
    • Motor circuits
    • Single motor
    • Grouped Motor
    • Markings

Day 2 (1/2 Day)

    • Define Short Circuit Current (SCCR)
    • Determine the Component SCCR
    • Calculate Short Circuit Current for a power circuit
    • Modify the short circuit current to attain higher values
