Job Purpose

The Outside Sales Representative is responsible for maintaining and growing our share of business from existing clients and developing leads and converting them into new clients and new business.  This includes scheduling and conducting frequent site walks, meetings, presentations, and social events. The Outside Sales Representative will carefully review take-offs, drawings, scope of work, procedures, and cost estimates, before presenting quotes to the clients.  The representative will closely follow up on all their open quotes, providing additional information as needed.  The job requires a deep knowledge of commercial and industrial electrical systems as well as the sales process.  Frequent technical communication with colleagues and team members is necessary to achieve success.

Responsibilities
  • Communicate directly with clients.
  • Attract and secure new business opportunities.
  • Prepare and review quotes and proposals using technical information such as drawings and specifications and information gathered during site visits.
  • Manage many business opportunities simultaneously.
  • Effectively communicate technical information with clients and team members
  • Organize and conduct meetings, site walks, presentations, and social events.
  • Travel to client sites and industry events
  • Manage time effectively.
  • Be resourceful and creative when solving problems.
Qualifications (Required)
  • 3 years’ experience is a technical sale role.
  • Knowledge in commercial or industrial electrical equipment
  • Ability to travel as business needs dictate.
  • Previous success in a related sales role
  • Clean driving and criminal record
    Qualifications (Preferred)
    • Bachelor’s degree in engineering; electrical engineering.
    • Previous experience in electrical testing or engineering.
      Compensation and Benefits
      • Pay depends on experience and qualifications.  Salary Range $75,000 – $95,000
